They took part in the 60th International ACODAL Congress, held in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia
Researchers from Ceit-IK4 and Conaqua participated in the 60th International ACODAL Conference in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia. Considered the biggest event in Colombia's water, sanitation, environment and renewable energy sectors, it was co-organized by the Basque Environment Cluster, ACLIMA, and with the support of the Basque Government. A total of 70 people from 47 companies and entities from the Basque Country, including Ceit-IK4 and Conaqua, participated in the Colombian event.
During the three-day event, nearly 2,000 experts from around the world (Colombia, France, Spain, Israel, the United States, Germany, the Netherlands, South Korea, etc.) presented and discussed initiatives on water, sanitation, renewable energy and waste management. Researchers from Ceit-IK4 and Conaqua gave a Master Class entitled "Optimizing the design and operation of wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) through simulation tools", and they also took part in B2B meetings between Basque companies and the engineering companies and public entities responsible for wastewater management in Colombia.
The Ceit-IK4 Technology Center, with more than thirty years of experience in WWTP simulation, and its spin-off, Conaqua Consulting, which carries out studies on the optimization, design, scaling and operation of WWTPs, presented some of the recent studies they have carried out in real plants such as the Sur de Madrid WWTP, the Palma 1 and Palma 2 WWTPs in Palma de Mallorca, the Galindo-Bilbao WWTP, and the La Cartuja-Zaragoza WWTP.
