The IoTSpace is a Ceit initiative consisting of a Laboratory setup for promoting learning and research on R+D projects and/or topics related to the concepts deployed by the Industry 4.0 framework. The main objective is to create a common place where researchers and students work together on solving Industrial Monitoring problems through the convergence and understanding of Productive Technologies and Information and Communication Technologies. By implementing ample connectivity in the IoTSpace, capturing, storing and interpreting data will allow researchers work to further to develop Smart Processes and Products, Smart Transport and Cities, Additive Manufacturing, Collaborative Cyber-Physical Systems, Vision and Augmented Reality.
The importance of the IoTSpace for future engineers:
By the year 2020 the number of connected devices across all technologies will reach 20.6 billion. This new wave of connectivity goes beyond laptops and smartphones—it is moving towards connected cars, smart homes, connected wearables, smart cities, connected healthcare and the development of smart production processes and products. Basically, we’ll be living a fully connected life!
