Laser Precision Manufacturing
Ceit develops high-precision manufacturing processes for industrial applications through applied research in ultrashort-pulse lasers (femtosecond pulses).
Femtosecond lasers are extremely precise and versatile tools that can be used on a wide variety of materials such as metal, ceramics, glass, or plastic. They allow us to process materials to redefine material properties related to:
- Functional texturing
- Microscale injection mold machining
- Decorative surface finishing
- Glass processing
Manufacturing Processes
FUNCTIONAL TEXTURING
Texturing to enhance reflectance and absorbance across the range from THz to visible light, fabrication of metastructures, hierarchical structures, and control of contact angle.
INJECTION MOLD MACHINING
Surface machining with submicrometric resolution enables the creation of highly complex shapes with very tight tolerances. Additionally, there is the option to deposit conformal coatings to increase the durability of the piece.
DECORATIVE SURFACE FINISHES
By combining laser processes with thin metallic layers (Cr, Au, Pt...) and/or oxides (SiO2, TiO2, Al2O3...), we can produce unique decorative effects, such as altering color or creating iridescent effects on various materials.
SOLUTIONS FOR PROCESSING GLASS, METALS, CERAMICS, OR PLASTICS
