Ceit main distinctive feature lies in its way of doing research. Thanks to its university origin and its continuous orientation towards solving the industry's problems and improving its competitiveness, research at Ceit is not understood without transfer.
From lab to market
From the beginning we focus research on the needs of the market for the benefit of society, which is the aim of our mission. We consider whether we can turn our tech into a Ceit spin-off or whether we can reach a licensing agreement with an existing company.
Tech-transfer is part of Ceit’s DNA. Ceit was constituted in 1982 only 7 years later the first Ceit patent was raised, and other seven years later, in 1996, the first Ceit spin-off was launched.
With 40 years of experience in innovation, a dedicated professional team, prestigious scientists, and proprietary breakthrough technologies, Ceit counts with an interesting value proposition for existing companies and for entrepreneurs and investors to promote and back the launch of spin-offs.

Ceit spin-offs, like the center itself, are multidisciplinary, cover multiple sectors (sustainable transport, industry 4.0, circular economy, additive manufacturing, etc…) based on a wide variety of technologies (vision, telecommunications, non-destructive techniques, powder metallurgy, membrane technologies, water engineering, etc...)

Our disruptive technologies are often looking for external entrepreneurs, investors and strategic partners to catalyze their commercialization trough new spin-offs. With Ceit you ensure differential technologies developed by ambitious and prestigious scientists as well as extensive experience in the tech-transfer process.
The main endorsement of Ceit tech-transfer activity is based on its 19 deep-tech companies portfolio, of which 6 of them were acquired by large international corporations, the creation of more than 380 new highly qualified jobs, most of them engineers, and an excellent relationship over the years with VCs and the rest of the agents in the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
